“Maricarmen Farias came to me in 2017. She was eager to challenge herself beyond what she had ever done before. Wanting to grow, wanting to stretch and wanting to truly find out what she is made of. Maricarmen’s progress has been spectacular. She has embraced every challenge and grown so much through the process. Her mental toughness is incredible and willingness to step up to any, and every challenge has seen her go from a beginner to a top age group athlete. I am so incredibly proud of her!” – Siri Lindley

Maricarmen on being willing to fail
Favorite Tough Training Session
100 x 100 swim. I love the focus and mindset you develop by doing this long set. It reminds me of why I absolutely love this sport: getting out of my comfort zone, achieving what seems impossible, finding a way to get through struggle no matter what, and the feeling of excitement and gratitude for having a strong and healthy body.
What Inspires Maricarmen
To go beyond what I believe is possible for myself and empower others to do the same. Become the best I can be.
Everyone who has had a positive impact in my life. If I had to pick one, I would say my husband for always being by my side, being my biggest supporter and inspiring to always give my best in everything I do.
What Maricarmen’s loves about Team Sirius
Everything :D:D:D. I love our team culture and how gratitude, growth, discipline and mental toughness are encouraged in every workout. I love that our coaches are truly invested in supporting us and bringing out the best within us, not just in the sport but also in life.
Maricarmens’s Favorite Race
My first 70.3 race in Boulder. Finishing that race after a tough year reminded me that
anything is possible and no matter what life throws at you, you can overcome and become stronger in the process.
